The validity of the vignette is tied to the vehicle's registration number.When the owner changes, the vignette remains valid for the same vehicle, unless a transfer application is submitted in case of incorrectly entered data at the time of purchase.
What are the penalties for an expired vignette?
For driving a motor vehicle without a valid vignette, a compensation fee or fine is imposed:
- Car: €35.79 / BGN 70 (compensation fee);
- In case of non-payment: a fine of €153.39 / BGN 300 and administrative-punitive measures.
